they imitate some roles , so they take many roles and tried to make it better. Therefore, we
decided the objectives to support children's need.
We use different kinds of media tool in our activities. We tried to best tool to teach the
topic effectively. Those were prezi, go animate, easely. We will use those tools while lecturing
in the class. We think that all the tools that we use are attractive for children. By this way we
can keep child in the class for a long time. Also, those are enjoyable tools and they may not
bore while presenting it. In addition, we use google forms, blog and bubbl.us to use in parent
involvement. We purposed that parent become a participation by using this tool at home. Also,
they can learn something about topic and make conversation with their children. As a
instructional method we generally used game because we think that game is enjoyable way of
learning. Children will participate in physical activity game or drama play, so they will both
learn and get enjoy during the activity.
Our instructional theory generally based on Piagets and Vygotskys theory because
science is generally related to cognitive development and those theorists explained how we
best teach young children any topic. By using assimilation and accommodation, we tried to
give some new knowledge to children. Scaffolding will be useful when children have
difficulty to understand. Social interactions are really effective in gaining new knowledge.
Our instructional theory also based on Gardners multiple intelligence theory. Because we
supported our activities with different media and materials, we tried to reach all children who
can learn differently. We add visuals, auditory tools to our teaching. We avoid using
behaviorism because we think that learning will not be permanent with behaviorist approach.
First of all, in each activity we start the activity by attracting children's attention to the
topic. We plan it because sometimes children do not want to listen a lecture, therefore we need
to catch their attention in a way. We bring a toy of butterfly or we show an anime that we
prepared for catching them to the topic. In activities, children learn the topic form information
in the media tool and after learning teacher make discussion to take each child's idea about
topic. Also, children play games during activities and they are active participation in
activities.
We as teachers, providing learner participation are sometimes very difficult and
sometimes very easy. Because we cannot give direct instruction to young children, we have to
take their attention to the activity. We should provide some activities that children can actively
engage in the learning process. While preparing activities with web 2.0 tools, we did not
concern about taking attention of children. Because we are showing good and attractive
visuals and auditory materials, we thought that childrens attention will be taken easily. Apart
from this, we prepared game-based activities to the children while learning, they will not
realize they are learning because they will be also enjoying from the activity.
At the end of each activity, we planned an assessment part. In that part, we ask different
type of questions to the children to measure what they understand from activity. We ask
descriptive questions about activity, sensitive and daily life questions to internalize the
activity and questions about objectives to measure whether objectives are acquired or not.
During asking those questions to children, as a teacher we asses us, too. We evaluate us about
how we present the activity and how we manage the class during activity. Also, discussion
parts during activities, help us to measure whether the activity meaningful for children or not.
