Advisory Report Spring 2010-2011

During the complete academic sessions gave 4 advising sessions (in class C4) as per the academic calendar and explained the students about the
importance of academic advising. Also explained to students about SAP cases
(individually as well in class) and elaborated them all the outcomes of the
same.
Important points observed regarding the academic advising are illustrated
as:
1) The students were confused when should we approach SSD and when
to advisors? Students further commented they often get confused
between the two. They were explained and briefed that for any
academic advising, you can directly approach your respective advisors,
and for other SSD is there to help and guide.
2) Students often asked how to calculate CGPA, the answer to which was
explained (as was in slide).
3) They enquired about summer semester, which was explained to them.
4) Evening batch students stated that they are not aware of any
happenings in the university. (The case was stated to SSD and the
problem seems to be solved).
5) The students were confused about SAP case. All the confusion
regarding the same were explained to them in details. Outcome of the
same was also explained to the students.
6) Students often complaint they were send email on the skyline portal
ID, which they never access. The case was present in academic
advising presentation.
7) Individually many students approached regarding the attendance. The
case was referred to the authorities and the matter often gets solved.
In nutshell, many students approached me for clarifications on various issues
and the issues were taken seriously and were solved.
