Reflection Questions and Answers:

Q: Why is it important to have tools in place to figure out whether students have learned the intended curriculum?
A: "It is vital to have tools in place to figure out whether students have learned the intended curriculum to paint a clear
picture of where each student is vs where they need to be as it relates to the benchmarks." - 2015-01-18 17:08:17
Q: What advantages and disadvantages come from using regular learning assessments to measure whether learning
has occurred?
A: "Some advantages are that the data from assessments can be shared in PLC's that should include the student and
parents, all teachers are aware of students' strengths and difficiencies and best of all interventions can become available to
assist each learner. Some disadvantages are that every student has a different learning style and assessments are
standard and may not be the best mode for particular students, the assessment results do not paint the whole picture of
every student and if equal access to interventions is not provided in schools, some students may not benefit." - 2015-01-18
17:16:13
Q: What benefits and obstacles come from giving each teacher their autonomy to teach a subject, while requiring all
students to be assessed in the same way at approximately the same time?
A: "Some teachers may only teach concepts that they are comfortable and may not meet the needs of all students." 2015-01-18 17:22:56
