You have presented lesson plan in a clear way, the lesson and the activities were appropriate to students level.
The warming up was engaging it is really good that you started with asking students what they know about
fractions and then to show them a really cool videos song about fractions. It would even better if you stopped
the song at some of the main parts and then you take over the video and explain the concept then continue
playing the rest.
You have prepared carefully structures activities aimed at teaching a math content of fractions, unit and whole
fraction.
Try to plan a lesson, which provide challenge to some learners levels, you have Mashallah some students of a
really high level like Sarah; encounter that when you plan your lessons in the future.
Keep in mind to show and present some clear aims for students to achieve at the end of the session and for you
to manage your lesson more effectively.
Try to minimize the teacher talk and maximize students centered focus in your lesson through activities for
different learning styles.
It was clear that you graded own language to the level of students
You have provides clear and effective models/demonstrations of classroom tasks and activities.
Be aware of your pronunciation of certain vocabulary and words, because students are imitating you and they end
up to pronounce the words inappropriately. (ex; Square, part)
It was clear that you used a range of effective questioning and elicitation techniques, this is a really good strategy
to elicit students thinking about the topic.
While you played the game on the board about the tree fraction one students was at the board and rest of the class
had nothing to do and they were completely quiet. So try to engage the whole class in the activity or make it as a
group competition of which group will finish first and how many correct answers they might have.
For your next lesson try to use a range of student-centered interaction patterns likepairwork, groupwork,
individual and whole class tasks, this way you will minimize the teacher talk and maximize students
centeredness. And for students to apply the knowledge thy have gained from your lesson.
Classroom management
You have tried to use appropriate activities to encourage and maintain active student participation.
You tried to maintains pace and motivation, but still the class was really quiet and students were not motivated
enough so you might want to use some interactive activities that would engage learners more.
Communication skills
You seem to builds rapport through interaction with students while maintaining a professional teaching demeanor.
You seem to use appropriate body language, eye contact, gestures and voice to maintain an effective classroom
presence.
I really liked how you were providing appropriate feedback to children to enhance learning and encourage cooperative behavior
You maintained to mark and monitor learners work providing constructive oral and written feedback
E Reflection
You seemed to reflect upon own teaching and used this process to improve practice,
You are advised to use feedback from mentors to improve future performance.
General Comments
Overall, it was a good lesson that seemed to add a value to students knowledge. Make sure that you display the objectives of
the lesson on the board and measure at the end of the lesson what was achieved and what wasnt. For future lessons, try to
challenge some of the high level students that you have in your class. It was a nice lesson keep up the good work.. Looking
forward to more improvements in your upcoming lessons and future teaching.
