Asset Capitalization

PAXCPGAL & PAXCPCAL - What Are The Steps to Generate And Interface Asset
Lines Using Capital Events? (Doc ID 1401863.1)

1. Collect costs on your capital project by creating or interfacing


expenditure items.
2. Run the appropriate cost distribution processes for your expenditure
items (EI's) depending on what types of costs have been entered.
These may include:
o PRC: Distribute Labor Costs
o PRC: Distribute Usage and Miscellaneous Costs
o PRC: Distribute Expense Report Adjustments
o PRC: Distribute Supplier Cost Adjustments
Ensure that the cost_distributed flag is Y for the EI's to confirm that
they have been cost distributed. You can view this value in the
Expenditure Inquiry form by adding the Cost Distributed flag using the
menu option Folder -> Show Field.
3. Ensure that your project's status allows asset capitalization. Navigate
to Setup > System > Statuses. Query using status type "Project" and
your project's current status and ensure that the Capitalize Assets
action is allowed:

5. If the project type for your project allows burdening, and you have selected to
capitalize burdened costs (see below), then you must run the PRC: Distribute
Total Burdened Costs process to generate total burdened cost debit and
credit cost distribution lines. Unless this process is run you will not be able to
generate asset lines for your expenditure items.
