Conflict Diamond Outline
-Intro+Thesis
Conflict diamonds
Points~ where do the diamonds come from? What makes them
blood/conflict diamonds? Whats being done to prevent them from being
sold? Is it working? What can be done?
First Paragraph:
The diamonds mostly come from South African countries.
A company known as De Beers own most of the mines.
Today, most diamonds are made in labs because anything that has
carbon can be made into diamonds with intense pressure.
Second Paragraph:
Blood/conflict diamonds are called blood/conflict because they come
from corrupt countries.
The revenue generated from the product is used to fund
rebels/warlords.
People are killed for the diamonds or for having any affiliation to them.

Third Paragraph:
Kimberley process (KP) was developed.
The process made sure that diamonds had to have a certificate of
authenticity to prove that they werent blood diamonds.
The process was agreed upon by De Beers and other diamond
companies.
Fourth Paragraph:
KP isnt really regulated or enforced, it was a voluntary process.
The KP doesnt have an official staff, they rotate the position around to
people within certain organization (more research).
Conflict diamonds are still being sold today and there isnt much being
done to stop it other than the KP.
Conclusion:
Not much is being done to stop conflict diamonds from entering the market.
People need to be aware of where their products come from a much deeper
basis.

I want to elaborate more into the information. But I often find myself
repeating information and stating the obvious. I need to also figure out how
to incorporate the information into the essay more effectively and make it
sound good. A lot of my writing doesnt flow right and I need to fix that. Plus I
need to work on my transitions.
