Comments

A well planned lesson with clear learning objectives

that were made clear to the students. Make sure you
re-visit these objectives throughout the lesson to check
for understanding and progress.
This was clear that you knew what you wanted the girls
to learning and the points you wanted to get across.
Make sure that the messages you give are clear, so
ask what is the relevance of the story you told? Etc.
Also a reminder that the friends programme is about
resiliency not friendship remind the students of this
constantly.
Great to see effort put into preparation of resources for
the class. Power point was spot on. How could you
make the students more interactive with out it being a
class discussion? Making of posters, small group work
and present back to the class etc. Think about this as
the booklet needs extra resources to supplement it
Mostly, but remember that these students are
extension students and so should be pushed to
develop their critical understanding, dont be afraid to
question them as to how and why when they share an
opinion, its a great way of assessing progress and
understanding of the individual.
These were ok. Again as an extension class I would
expect to see you really challenging their thinking and
links to objectives etc, they should be able to cope well
with this.
A well prepared power point, attempt to challenge
yourself with other resource development
Mostly good, it is clear that the students are aware of
what they are doing, attempt to tighten your class
management so that all students are engaged when
you are giving instructions they will be far more
productive this way.
Spot on, the class got through the work and you were
able to assess if they had covered everything at the
end of the lesson
I would like to see you tighten this up. Have and
maintain very high standards of the students,
especially in the talk time as this is where the students
were a bit lost, just because its an extension class and
they are good kids does not mean that they do not
need reminding about appropriate talking etc.

Set some routines for this. E.g. when you are counting
down you expect pens down eyes to you and mouths
closed. You will find that if you keep these tight the
students will be far more productive during the lessons

Ending of lesson

Not really applicable for this class

Very good movement around the tables and engaging
with all groups of students where needed and also
when not really needed but to check for understanding
etc.
Just be mindful not to sit on the tables!
Clear and good tone for most of the time, just be
mindful of your class management and make sure that
you do not talk over the students when you are giving
instructions.
Your positive tone means the students feel enthused
also which helps by creating a good learning
environment.
Good with all students especially considering their level
of engagement and productivity, you were able to
relate to them in motivating way.
Always use a clear plenary so the students can re-cap
what and why they have learnt during the lesson

Classroom manner:
Very positive and well planned.
Relaxed with the students which is good most of the time but be mindful when giving
instructions.

Areas of strength:
Teacher movement
Use of voice positive tone and clear instructions
Planning and prep for the lesson
Ensuring student engagement
Areas for development:
Use of questioning to challenge critical thinking
Extension activities for students who need more work
Classroom management for giving instructions.
