signs off on the work being done by Sundt

would you read our concerns below and look

at the attached photos that document what we
are talking about.
1. Large cracks that have already appeared in
the concrete roadbed.
2. The lane markings that are already coming
off. And they are most prominent in areas
where there had not been any traffic yet!
3. Several of us have repeatedly asked the
project engineer, Mr. Espineli, to address the
issues at Doniphan / Country Club Road
intersection. To date the only thing that has
been done is removal of a sign that incorrectly
indicated lane merger.
a. There is no signage on the lights at
Doniphan and Country Club indicating that
the left-hand lane disappears immediately
after crossing the railroad tracks heading west
on Country Club. This is creating a very
dangerous situation.
b. The left turn lane on Mesa at Doniphan is
too short.
4.. The sidewalk on the south side of Country
Club Road is an ugly mess where it ends at
the railroad tracks at Doniphan. Pedestrians
are forced to jump the curb and walk directly
in the right hand traffic lane with no
protection. Why have such an ugly beginning
(or ending if you are going west) to such a
nice project.
5. The pedestrian island at 213 Country Club
is a hazard. It requires some reflective
markings as it is often no visible. Yes, there
are signs, but the lighting is such that there
should be markings around the base of the
island.
6. The street lighting is brighter than any
street lighting we've seen anywhere in El
Paso. As this is a quiet residential area who
do we need to talk to in order to have this
lighting dimmed?
7. The lane markings at the intersection of
Love Road and Country Club were removed
and never replaced.
8. The contractor has filled the irrigation ditch
at Country Club and Love Road with debris.
The contractor needs to clean this ditch right
away as we will soon be using it for irrigation.
