Dear Ban-Ki-Moon,

Hello, Sir. My name is Kaitlyn McMonagle and Ive been researching you
lately. I understand that youre the Secretary General of the United Nations
and that is a position that is highly sought after, so please let me say
congratulations for obtaining such a high place of power. We live in a world
with many types of countries. We have developed countries, developing
countries and underdeveloped countries. Seeing as your position in the
United Nations is very high up, Im sure you know that there are many
different cultures all over the world that live peacefully with other cultures
and some cultures that arent able to live peacefully with others. This is why
globalization is so important as you probably already know. To be a
globalized world would mean that all countries could work together and be
friendly with one another. Also, if we were globalized then there would be
less war and violence which is always a huge benefit for everyone. If the
world was globalized and could find a common ground, then it would also be
easier to trade and we could also learn a lot from each other. Every single
country has something that it could offer to make the world a better and
easier place.
I recently saw your speech on tolerance. I completely agree with you. I
think that there needs to be more tolerance in the world whether that is
religious or racial tolerance. There is too much anger and non-acceptance in
different countries that need to be ended. We need to come together as one
globalized place and understand that people come from different
backgrounds and different cultures and not everyone is like us.
Lately there have been many groups who have attacked different
communities all over the world because they dont agree with them. This is
causing so many problems for every single human being in this world. People
are scared for their own safety, government officials arent sure how to stop
them and its just a mess. I think that these extremist groups need to
actually realize that theyre doing more harm than good. Theyre attacking
people for reasons that they cant control and that isnt right.
Also, I saw that you went to India to address the way they deal with
terrorism, poverty, climate change and displacement. I also noticed what you
tried to do for the country. I saw that you addressed their council and gave
them advice by telling them to fight for human rights and peace. I believe
that this was a good idea because it gives them a little push in the right
direction. This helps India because now they have a place to start and
theyre able to start making differences for the greater good.
You, sir, are doing an amazing job as the Secretary General of the
United Nations. I dont think that there is anyone else who is a better fit for
this position. We appreciate you and your efforts towards globalization.
