Traditional method
Under this procurement method, the client will appoints a project
consultant team which is consist of Architect, engineers and quantity surveyor which whole consultant team is led by the Architect. The architect and engineer are responsible to carry out the design based on the requirement by the client and the safety requirement of the building The Quantity surveyor is responsible to prepare the cost estimate, cost advices and tender document during the pre-contract stage. The contractor is under supervision of clients consultant team, which the contractor need to carry out the work on site accordance to the instruction and design by the consultant team of client. The Engineers and Architects will carry out routine supervision on the working site to supervise the work done by the contractor on the behalf of the client to ensure the work done by the contractor is accordance to the requirement The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for carry out valuation certificate for work done by the contractor and submit to the Architect. The Architect will issue progress payment certificate and the client will make the progress payment to the contractor. During the end of the project, the Quantity Surveyor will prepare the final account
