My
installation
From your research into video installation, give two examples that you think influence your work / ideas
in some way.
One should be a past practitioner and the other should be contemporary.

Sound design
What sound will your FMP / Productions have?
My final major project will have both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds, the diegetic sounds will be the
practical sound effects and Foley that will occur in the background of the video, for example the sound
of a perfume bottle being prayed can be heard; this was added in to the video. However my video is
mostly non-diegetic sounds such as the music that plays in the background of the advertisement that
can be heard throughout the whole video. The speech in my video is also non-diegetic as it is a sound
bite from a pre-recorded audio file.
Lighting design
What lighting will you have in your installation? Consider health and safety.
In my installation I will have a minimum lighting setup as I intend the surroundings to seem like a
cinema look or a neon lighting look, therefore I will have two bars of LED lights that slightly light up the
sides of my table producing a glow effect, and if necessary I will have two film stage lights that will light
up the table area as my main source, however the projectors light will produce some lighting as well. I
have chosen these because they will be very easy to set up and have few wires between them to avoid
any health and safety risks occurring during the production.
Projection vs screen
Will you project your video or play it on a screen?
My project will be played on small screens and a projector.
Why?
Technological convergence
What is technological convergence?
Technological convergence describes the method of upgrading a device to a more modern or advanced
tool from the previous technological tool to perform the same task. By making technological
conversance apply to products, we are essentially replacing the older method of performing tasks with
the newer methods that include a more danced manor of operating.
Venues
Locate and show research into three possible venues for you to show your work.
Venue:
Location:
1. The production of hiring out the venue and the enmities of the
venue such as maintenance may cost higher than expected.
2. As the venue is a popular destination for exhibitions, the
production of our exhibition may be limited.
3. The venue is not sheltered from other distractions such as noise
pollution and light that may effect the exhibition.

Description
Copyright issues
What potential copyright issues could your FMP infringe?
My final major project could infringe some issues such as product placement issues by using Chanels
logo throughout my production as well as the Chanel bottle that is also present during the sequence.
The other issues are the audio in my production; this involves music infringement copyright laws with
the record company (EMI), as I will be playing a track that is entitled to the record company. The other
audio issues such as sound effects are not infringing any laws because they are royalty free, and the
other picture issues are filmed and recorded by me so they do not have the potential for issues.
How can you be certain that your work does not violate any copyright infringements?
I can be certain that they do not violate any issues as I will take some precautions before publishing my
video online, these include analysing the terms and conditions of the record company and perfume
brand to assure that they allow educational purposes. I will then write a conformation email to the
companies to ensure that I have confirmation for the actions I will take, by doing this I will have gained
permission to precede in the production publishing as long as I do not break the other rules.
