Four Frame
Analysis Paper

Allowed me to apply what I know about

Bolman and Deals Four Frames to my
school Novi Community Schools. This
paper taught me to look through multiple
lenses and to analyze the structure through
multiple frames. After using the four
frame analysis, areas for improvement are
easy to identify.
This paper allowed me to analyze Novi
Community Schools through Alan
Blankstein six principals. It allowed me to
understand that Failure is not an option
primarily because student success is at the
very core of our profession. This is the
critical mind set all educators should
embody and be our sentence as Dan
Pink outlines in the book Drive. This
thinking needs to permeate each and every
interaction we have with students,
colleagues, support staff, administrators,
and parents in our classroom, school, and
district.
The reading from this book helped me to
understand the importance of aligning the
school vision with all human
resource processes and ensuring that it is a
healthy organization. Additionally, I was
able to understand:
The three biases that prevent leaders
from embracing organizational health.
The difference between a smart
organization and a healthy organization.
Why the Four Disciplines model builds
and maintains organizational health.
The secrets to cascading communication

This article allowed me to consider the
importance of Job Embedded professional
development for the betterment of School
Improvement which includes practical
research and solutions in classrooms and
school wide. Additionally, it showed me
the importance of collaborative work
being the heart of job-embedded
professional development, evaluating and

improve teacher quality
Through my work with Bolman and Deal,
it was apparent that Novi Community
Schools was in need of a district policy
for intervention for student learning. I
took the lead and through collaboration
with the Assistant Superintendent of
Curriculum and my building principal, a
model was created.

Webster Case

Inheriting an unhealthy school culture is

one of the most difficult tasks a
building principal takes on. This
assignment allowed me to reflect upon
another school, Webster Elementary
School, and show how to evaluate the
school culture, provide resources as the
HR director along with suggestions for
professional development.
This assignment helped me to
better understand adults as learners by
reading about the Adult Learning Theory.
This helped me to plan for professional
development for my staff.
The teacher induction plan allowed me to
create a professional development plan
that supports new teachers and supports
teachers who are not rated effective
within their school. The goal of this plan
is to ensure new teacher success and to
decrease teacher attrition.
This response discussed the leadership
video, The Art of Possibility. This
video gave me a new approach on
leadership around the idea of possibilities
and coaching through the eyes of
Benjamin Zander. A big take-away that I
would foster in my school is the idea of
the art of leadership is about a new way
of being.
I learned that having crucial
conversations is part of maintaining and
growing a healthy school climate. Crucial

importance of speaking up in these
crucial moments effectively, in hopes to
accomplish the results I am after. This

This article allowed me to learn the
necessity of an induction program and the
important components including:
mentor training, common planning with

This allowed me to see the importance of
providing staff with a clear message
when presenting them with
communication in connection with an

Creating and analyzing surveys for students,

staff and administration to better understand

and data cannot be altered. Additionally,
making a survey helped me to see the
importance of question writing and the
impact a well-written question has on the
outcome of the survey.
Creating interview questions for potential

questions that align with our school vision.
Additionally, this provided me with an

District Marketing
Plan

This project helped me to see the

importance of marketing plays for a
district. It is imperative that you
inform, listen, and learn from the
public. It helped me to see the
importance of having a plan that
relates to your audience and the
importance of effective
communication when presenting.
Meeting the needs of your audience is
important to ensure your message is
received.
It helped me to analyze a current
problem effecting Novi Community
Schools, special education. It helped
me to serve as the solution, but more
importantly reflect as to why it became
an issue in the first place. Seeing the
gaps in communication typically leads
to problems and issues that require
solutions and plans to rectify the
problem.
This helped me to gain insight from
other districts to help to think through
all avenues when posing a solution to a
major issue. Communicating with
others helps to look at the problem
from many different lenses, which is
an imperative strategy when facing all
challenges.
This helped me to see the need to
bridge the gap between school and
community relations. It helped me to

Matching
Principals to
a School

For this assignment, we were asked to look

at current professional journals and research
to discuss a hot topic to school districts and
school systems. This relection focused on a
report put out by the RAND Corporation. It
was the findings of a research-based study
that devoted the entire article/study to
ensuring the best possible match between a
principal-candidate and a school. The
placement search needs to be strategic, as if
not, the outcomes could be tragic to a
school. When you do not make the correct
match between a candidate and an open
principal position, it can greatly affect the
ability of a school to perform to its highest
potential.
