Purpose of Interview 1:
What is the purpose of this interview?
The purpose of it is to gather information for myself as I am not very good at gaming and I need to
learn more about gaming and learn most of the latest and basic aspects of gaming. The interviews
are important to our production as its one of the most important parts of finishing the production
and gathering information from others.

Circle which of the following formats it will be;

Lifestyle magazine article
Lifestyle television or radio Programme article
Television or radio documentary
Childrens news website
Commercial blog
Local television news
National radio news,
Reality television contestants

Add research demonstrating the format of this interview (ie a magazine layout, or an interview chat
show on TV)

Planning for Interview One

Interviewees Name:
Date and Time of interview:

How will you record the interview?

We will be recording it in the studio with three cameras.

In what medium (audio, visual, written etc) will the final interview be presented?
The final interview will be showed usually.

What information do you need to get from this interview?

I will need to get professional help on gaming. I will need to talk about gaming in the interview with
the other interviewees and ask our guests what the experience of gaming gives you. The show will
be going into detail with the guests and asking detailed questions on the quality and the lifestyle of
gaming. Will need to get professional information on the new consoles coming up, new games,
and new gadgets.

Describe how you are planning on contacting and liaising with your talent (interviewee)
I am planning on liaising with the interviewees talent by asking him what he knows about gaming
and how he has lived with it all his life. I will be giving him break downs on different sections and
parsing him to give John more confidence in what he does, therefore a better and much smoother
interview.

Production Booklet

How will you make sure unnecessary sounds etc are not recorded?
By making sure the timings are all correct and from my team mates. Turning off the recorder on
time before any interruptions from people moving or casual off air talk is heard. Other things like
making sure the studio is clear from any obstacles that may get in they way, and make sure the
wires are clearly visible so nobody trips over.

If visual recording, explain how you will deal with any issues caused by ambient light.
We would pre-record an experiment piece before and try to get the correct lighting adjustment for
the live show to get the clearest visual piece.

What equipment will you need to carry out this interview?

I will need three of the studio cameras. The equipment we choose on what specifics we want to do
depending on what type of live show we are doing. As we are doing a gaming show we decided to
bring some items that are to do with gaming. We will need a gaming controller and some game

boxes for the table. Other items such as gaming models will be needed to.

games to play at the moment.

Likely Response:
The games Im into is x and x because they are simply the
best on the market as well, and they are really exciting and
adventurous.

to fill out to do it?

Likely Response:
You will need to fill out your personal details and choose a

name, but you can instead come up with a funky name
such as xxx for example.

Interview Style for Interview One

Production Booklet

What will your interview style be? (formal, informal and chatty, intense, questioning, argumentative,
friendly, jokey)
I will be using formal, informal and chatty questioning. I will be asking in a general and chatty way
how they find their gaming experience.

Why have you chosen that style?

Because it is the best way to communicate with somebody about the subject. It will give the person
who im questioning more confidence, more relaxed and easy answers so he doesnt feel too
pressured if it was just formal.

Add research of other interview/chat shows where the presenter has a similar style. You can insert
another page here for your research.

PC gaming show 2015. This interview clearly has a gaming background, similar to what I want to
use in my live show, and the way the people are positioned, like behind a desk and on a sofa will
be very similar to my gaming show. The interviewer introduces the interviewee with a warm
welcome then starts questioning him.
