VOCATIONS BLESSING CRUCIFIX
Pope Francis has set this year for us to pray for
people in the Consecrated Life. St. Lukes is in need
of families or individuals to volunteer to take the
Vocations Blessing Crucifix home for a week. One is
received at the 8:45 am mass and one is received at
the 10:15 am mass. If you are able to invite Jesus to
spend some time at your home, please call Carol
Juarez at 463-2856 or Sister Odetta at 462-0410.

ASH WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE
Ash Wednesday is February 18. The
schedule is as follows:
(All masses and services will be
in the church.)

12:15 pm Liturgy of the Word with ashes
7:30 pm in Spanish
7 am and 7 pm in Vietnamese*

REGULATIONS FOR FAST & ABSTINENCE:
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory
days of fast & abstinence. Fasting is obligatory for
all who have completed their 18th year and have
not yet reached their 60th year. Fasting allows a
person to eat one full meal. Two smaller meals may
be taken, not to equal one full meal. Abstinence
(from meat) is obligatory for all who have reached
their 14th year (Ash Wednesday & Fridays of Lent.)

STATIONS OF THE CROSS


will be held on Fridays in Lent at 2:15 pm led by
St. Luke school children and 7:00 pm led by various
parish groups.
CONSECRATED LIFE
will be celebrated in parishes this
weekend, February 7 8, 2015. Please
pray for all those who have made commitments in
the consecrated life, and be sure to thank them this
weekend. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus
Christ and respond generously to Gods gift of their
vocation.
MASS AND HEALING SERVICE
A Mass and Healing Service will be held on Feb. 21,
2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the gym. Father Ramon Zarate,
S.D.B, will be the Mass celebrant. The Children of
God Prayer Group healing teams will be available to
pray for anyone in need of physical, emotional, or
spiritual healing. For info, call Vivian at 477-1668.
FOOD FOR FAMILIES
The weekend of February 21 & 22, the
Spanish-speaking families of St. Lukes will
be in the parking lot collecting non-perishable food
items for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry. Your
donations are greatly appreciated by the foodchallenged in the greater Stockton area. Thank you
for your continued support.

PRAY FOR THE DEAD - 2 Maccabees 12: 45
Included in todays bulletin is a list of loved ones
who were memorialized through the gift of
poinsettias for our altar this Christmas
Season. Please keep these, and all the faithful
departed in your prayers. If there are any
corrections in spelling needed or accidental
omissions please call the parish Youth Office at 9421026 and they will be published in next weeks
bulletin.

ST. LUKE
Next Sunday, February 15 is Fellowship Sunday.
Coffee and donuts will be served in the Social Hall
after the 8:45 and 10:15 am masses. Sponsored by
your Knights of Columbus.

THANK YOU
St. Lukes Youth Group would like to say a big
Thank You, to all who helped and donated finger
foods and sweet treats for our parish celebration of
St. John Boscos feast day. Special thanks to our
Filipino Catholic families, and Dennis Anderson &
the Knights of Columbus, for getting us the supplies
needed for such an event. Thanks, too, to Princess
Balbuena and the CRE choir for filling the hall with
music! Lets make this a yearly celebration!

SEMINARY NEWS
This new year brings back to our Diocese three
seminarians serving in their Pastoral Year. John Ngo
is already at the Cathedral of the Annunciation.
Joseph Nguyen is assigned to Our Lady of Fatima
from January through June. Beginning in February,
Tom Orlando will be in a partial Pastoral Year at St.
Annes in Lodi. Both John and Tom were at St. Lukes
several years ago. We wish them great success in
their Pastoral assignments. Keep all of our
seminarians in your prayers.
