Perth and Kinross Local Area Commanders Bulletin

25th June 2015
This week saw my officers collaborating with Merseyside Police in an operation to
trace people for drugs offences as part of a wide-ranging investigation into drugs
supply by the Matrix Serious Organised Crime unit.
Officers from Police Scotlands Tayside Division executed PACE 8 warrants on
behalf of Merseyside Police in Glengarry Road, Perth, and Tulloch Terrace,
Perth, and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A
controlled drugs.
The man was taken into the custody of Detectives from Matrix Serious Organised
Crime unit who will interview him back in Merseyside.
A 34 year old local man was arrested, in Inchture, having been found in
circumstances where it was reasonable to suspect that he was there to commit theft.
In the Kinross area 2 sheds were subject to break in and attempted break in, on
Tuesday 16th into Wed 17th June a 16 year old male has been apprehended and
appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday 19th June.
Staying in Kinross a climbing frame was damaged within the play park at Kirkgate
overnight Tuesday 16th into Wed 17th June.
A couple of crimes in Auchterarder now, where a quantity of around 400 wooden
logs were stolen last week. This is likely to have taken some considerable time, and
the use of a trailer or pick up. If anyone has seen anything suspicious they should
contact Police on 101.
In Almondbank a workbench and some gardening equipment was stolen from a car
port during the night on Friday 19th June.
A mail box in Aberdalgie was damaged between Friday 10th and Saturday 20th June.
Over to Blairgowrie now and a youth has been reported to the youth Justice
Assessor after a car windscreen was smashed with a stone on Tuesday evening.
Another vandalism occurred in Kirkmichael on Friday 19th into Saturday 20th June
where the tyres of a car were damaged. Whilst in Alyth a van parked behind the
Blackbird Inn had 2 Stihl saws and 2 Hilti guns stolen over the weekend of 20th June
to 23rd June, valued at over 2000.
Overnight on Monday 22nd a Volvo XC60 motor car was stolen from Drummond
Terrace, Crieff, this was a 14 plate valued at over 20,000. Any one who saw
suspicious activity or knows anything about this crime is urged to call Police Scotland
on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
Finally to Perth and fuel was syphoned from 2 lorries at Morris Young, Crieff Road,
this is close to the similar offences at Tulloch Works last week.
