BPO is a subset of outsourcing that involves contracting the operation and

responsibilities of specific business functions (or processes) to a third party service.


Usually includes those activities that require greater skill knowledge, education and
expertise.
BPO is typically categorized into back office outsourcing which includes internal
business functions such as human resource, finance, accounting and front office
outsourcing which includes customer related services such as contact services
example call centers.
BPO that is contracted outside the companies country is called offshore outsourcing,
to a service industry employment from offices to home based employees with
appropriate telephone facilities.

BUSINESS PROCESS OUTSOURCING (BPO)

BPO is contracting the operation and responsibilities of specific function or process
to a third party service provider:
Outsourcing is the word which means to get from someone outside.
Near Sourcing and Off sourcing are the types af outsourcing which only differ in
location.
Near Sourcing is a term used for those companies nearby while offsourcing for
companies ocean away.
Internet technology - serve as the bridge for these two entities to doing possible.
Since information technology as relied by BPO it is considered IT-BPO.
Voice BPO the main difference of the two is that the BPO are the companies,
which, ( outsourcing Companies) provide the business services for some other
companies such providing the help or customer care support for some other
company as in call center for examples.
Non-Voice or KPO stands for Knowledge Process Outsourcing are companies who
provide the knowledge service for other company such as help files etc.
Unlike the traditional BPO or voice BPO, KPO include some activities that require a
greater skill, talent, education and expertise.

BPO companies vary according to the type of service that they offer.
In the Philippines, the major components of the BPO industry are
1. Contact center (voice) provides a number of inbound and outbound services
for sales, technical support, directory etc.
2. Software development (non-voice) analysis, design, customization etc. of
system software.
3. Animation creative services (non-voice) process of giving illution of
movement to cinematographic drawing or models.
4. Data transcription (Legal & Medical) (non-voice)
5. Back offices processing (Finance & accounting) (non-voice)
6. Engineering design (non-voice)
