First, A Poems Must Magical

By: Jose Garcia Villa

INTERPRETATION

This is all about how one should make a poem, First, a poem
must be magical, Then musical as a seagull. The first two lines teach us
that a poem must give the readers the experience of seeing magic and
hearing music just from reading. Its followed by It must be a brightness
moving And hold secret a birds flowering which can mean that a poem
must lead the readers vision to a different light, let them have a birds eye
view of flowing thoughts. I think that the part birds flowering shows a bird
spreading its wings, which could be associated to a poem that can take you
anywhere because it can fly. Then It must be slender as a bell And it must
hold fire as well. I think that what the poet mean is that a poem must be
flawless, balanced, not exaggerated and at the same time not dull. It should
have the ability to light the fire of those who read it, boost their spirit. Next is
It must have the wisdom of bows And it must kneel like a rose which I
think implies that a poem must be focused to its subject matter, that it must
hit its right spot just like a bow that always hit its target. To kneel like a
rose can be compared to a person who embodies the idea of valor and
simplicity which refers to someone who doesnt show off but in reality is
quite strong and sincere but associating it with a poem means it should be
humble no matter how beautiful it is. The poem continues with It must be
able to hear the luminance of dove and dear suggests that poems should

be able to empathize with the readers, for them to see the luminance of
dove and deer which I think represent the goodness of the people around
them. Now It must be able to hide what it seeks, like a bride it says. For
me it means that poems must not be literal, it should not directly state its
meaning. The poem must let the readers know it by themselves, which by
reading between the lines or analyzing it deeply will lead them to
understanding what it wanted to show them. And last, And over all I would
like to hover God, smiling from the poems cover which means that a
poem must be something that even God will be happy about. The poem must
be like something that is even blessed by God, for if it is the one who will
read it will be blessed too.
