REFLECTION AND SELF EVALUATION

MDD Standard 6
The teacher candidate identifies the main things learned in this practicum and ways
in which this learning has informed their professional development needs, reflecting on
the meaning, values, and purposes that will orient his or her professional life.
4.1 Reflect on the main things you have learned about teaching and how these relate
to your understanding of the profession and the values that guide your work.
- First I would like to point out how different is what we have learnt as forming
teacher, with how is the real labor or job of the teacher in a classroom. Mainly
because, it is not possible applying all the aspects learnt in English methodology
or even from international researches, this does not mean that everything is
impossible but it will depend much more in the teacher practicing than the
theory.
Classroom management and the real way to explain and deliver instructions (not
on hundred in English because that is impossible), and to maintain the focus on
practical activities more than theoretical content to start changing the way of
students are used to.
4.2 Describe one or two areas of professional growth (e.g. instructional strategies,
content knowledge).
The concrete interaction with students in real contexts, this facilitated me to
promote my skills in terms of identifying strengths and weaknesses, and also to
prepare strategies and effective activities.
4.3 Identify personal strengths and weaknesses on facing this future challenge.
To identify and analyze the main characteristics of my students group, to be able to
prepare an optimum lesson. Be able to stablish a correlative relation of respect and
confidence with the group to teach them in a more personal way in a shorter time.
