Sunday Sermon

Growing Deeply

a daily scripture guide

Week of July 13 July 18

MONDAY: ROMANS 8:37-39 An everywhere God

REFLECTION: An ever present God with us experiences the highs and lows of our lives.
PRAYER: Im not alone. Theres nothing so great or so devastating in which
your presence cannot exist.
TUESDAY: ROMANS 8:37-39 Laughing, weeping God
REFLECTION: God in Christ is moved by humanity and our situations.
Imagine a God who laughs and weeps with us.
PRAYER: As you are with me and empathize with me, may I do the same
today for another.

For I Am Convinced - July 12

Scripture: Romans 8:37-39 (NIV)
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who
loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height
nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
My Notes

WEDNESDAY: ROMANS 8:37-39 Ive got joy, yes, I do. Ive got joy, how about you?
REFLECTION: Too often we invoke the presence of God particularly during
difficulty. How much more joy-filled might our lives be if we savored the
presence of God in Christ during the blessed times?
PRAYER: Joy! May I experience the joy you give that cannot be taken away
by the world or circumstances. This joy I have is deep in you.
THURSDAY: PHILIPPIANS 4:1-9 Peace, please
REFLECTION: Peace is a mystery. The practice of and living in peace can be
fearful. We are so used to stress and anxiety that the peace of Christ can
be hard to accept. Try anyway.
PRAYER: Replace fear with peace. Repair my broken heart with your peace that
doesnt make sense but is a best alternative. Guard my heart in Christs peace.
FRIDAY: PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9 Whatever!
REFLECTION: Hold up the number 3, making a W for whatever! Reclaim this
words meaning from, I dont care, to, I care so much that I will think anew.
PRAYER: Change my cynical whatever attitude to a new whatever
where I think on the pure, just, lovely, etc.
SATURDAY: PHILIPPIANS 4:4-9 Worries...whatever!
REFLECTION: Worry consumes our thoughts. We worry about enough this
or that or if we are enough. Instead of worrying, recite this whatever
scripture. Then whatever your worries!
PRAYER: No more will I allow worry to eat at me day and night. Youve
given me a healthier way of being and thinking. Whatever is____.
Im thinking on that. Thank you Lord!
