KEYBOARD TYPING CONTEST

1. THE CONTEST: The contest is a skill-based typing contest, in which

eligible participants will compete by taking a typing test using a typing
application to test a participant's word-per-minute typing speed (WPM)
as he or she types through a certain paragraph of text. Once the test is
completed, the application will calculate and indicate to the participant
what his or her typing WPM is and how that speed performs against
other participants who have already taken the test. The goal of the
Contest is to identify and reward the fastest typist among all
Participants,
as
calculated
by
the
application.
2. PARTICIPANTS: A student is eligible to participate in the Contest if he
or she meets the following requirements:
a. He/she is a bonafide first year student of Golden Success
College.
b. The student is not involved in any part of the administration and
execution of the contest.
c. The individual is not an immediate family or relative (sibling,
spouse, child, cousin) or household member of the Keyboard
Typing Coordinator or of a person involved in any part of the
administration and execution of the contest.
It is a First Come, First Serve basis. First thirty (30) participants can
join the Elimination Round.
3. ELIMINATION ROUND: The thirty (30) participants will take a 10minute typing test. The fifteen (15) students with the fastest logged
WPM speeds as of the end of the Elimination Round will proceed to the
Semi-Final round.
4. SEMI-FINAL ROUND: The fifteen (15) semi-finalists will take a 2minute, 5-minute, and 10-minute tests. The semi-finalists will be typing
the same paragraphs of texts. The five (5) semi-finalists with the
fastest logged average WPM speeds as of the end of the Semi-Final
Round will proceed to the Final round of the contest.
5. FINAL ROUND: The finalists will compete against each other in a 2minute, 5-minute, and 10-minute tests. The finalists will be typing
different paragraphs of texts. The student with the highest net speed
as of the end of the Final Round will be declared as the Champion. The
second and third highest WPM will be declared as First and Second
Runner-Ups.
6. PRIZES: The top three typists will receive certificates.
