REGISTRATION VARIES BY WORKSHOP: Please check the instructions specific to each workshop to register
appropriately. Some registration will be completed electronically through BTSAsupport.com, while other registration
will be completed by school site administrators. Instructions for each workshop are provided below.
CREDIT AND CSUB CREDIT: Seminars held after school offer the option of earning hours toward district or
CSUB credit. When you sign in, indicate your preference of receiving district credit or CSUB credit toward salary
advancement.

BTSA Math Workshop: Comparing Bits and Pieces- Number Sense Strand

Participants will be trained on understanding rational numbers, moving among fractions, decimals, and percents, comparing and
ordering rational numbers, and equivalence. For this workshop series,
attendance and full participation, including the sharing of student work, is required. Participants will receive Connected
Mathematics 3 Project units and other materials, including a TI-73 graphing calculator. Up to 4 CSUB units are available for $50 per
unit. The BTSA Math Workshop Series is limited to 30 participants.

This workshop will introduce teachers to the concept of virtual lesson planning and variations of the so-called flipped classroom. Teachers
will also discuss possible uses for the virtual lesson ranging from in-class differentiated instruction, outside-of-class enrichment and
intervention, and meaningful lesson planning for absence (used by substitute teachers). Final emphasis will be placed on designing a sample
video lesson using Microsoft Movie Maker.

available Supporting Tasks. PLC Teams will also be given time to work together to create tasks for use in their own classrooms.

Year A and Year B.

rules. For this workshop series, attendance and full participation, including the sharing of student work, is required. Participants
will receive Connected Mathematics 3 Project units and other materials, including a TI-73 graphing calculator. Up to 4 CSUB units
are available for $50 per unit. The BTSA Math Workshop Series is limited to 30 participants.

Lesson Study

Lesson study provides a new type of data for PLC teams to use as they develop high-quality lessons and utilize effective instructional
strategies. During the morning, Dr. Perry will lead PLC teams in an introduction to the lesson study process. In Lesson Study, teams
corporately design lessons, observe the lesson taught in class while collecting data about the instruction, and then revise the lesson design to
improve instruction. During the afternoon teams will be guided by Dr. Perry as they corporately design a lesson. Time/subs will be provided at
the school site for observation and follow-up discussion and lesson revision.
IAs and BIAs will have staff development related to the ELD students they work with to help them be a better collaborative team member with
the teachers they work with.
