software so that missing laptops can be located by law enforcement.
12. Any failure to comply with student expectations may result in disciplinary action.
KCPS may remove a users access to the network without notice at any time if the
user is engaged in any unauthorized activity. KCPS reserves the right to confiscate
the property at any time.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to the
LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the LEA's
budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding proposals or
partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
1. How will technology be used to create more powerful learning experiences to
improve student academic achievement?
Goals for technology implementation
The District will provide necessary technologies for KCPS students, staff and
community to have equitable access consistent with district, state and national
standards. The District will review Core Data collection and transmission
processes to make improvements as necessary. The District will update its
software to meet new state requirements, as needed. The District will transmit
reports to DESE electronically

Each core subject teaches will utilize the I Pads and they are to be used for projects and
project based learning assignments.
All of the teachers are supposed to use technology in their classes, utilizing the
technology will be a part of teacher evaluation system.
School will offer parent academy courses where the parents can be educated and trained
for their students education.
The mobile parent portal training will be given to the parents and they will be encouraged
to be involved In their kids learning.
School will utilize the Clear Internet modems for the parent without internet access at
home in order to make internet available for the students whom are disadvantaged.
2. Are targets for improvement in student achievement being met?
The school utilized the Title 1 money to purchase ALEKS, Study Island and I Pads.
School District also created an internal evaluation system where the progress and usage
of those programs were tracked and monitored.
With the individual learning path from ALEKS, student motivation seems to increase.
Some teachers have started using Google forms for assignment turning in and this made
classes to become more college level structure where students can submit assignment
online and get feedback instantly. Because these classes are more technology driven,
homework and assignment turn in percentage increased and this reflected overall student
performance.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the classroom.
1. How will teachers be trained to deliver Internet safety and ethical use content?
At the beginning of each year each staff member is to complete technology training that
is offered at the school. This training will cover basically how to monitor the acceptable
use of technology and prevent any misuse.
2. How will the district monitor internet safety?
District will purchase Meraki management system for I pads. This software manages all
the I Pad applications and it even blocks the camera. The software is also good to work at
home too. It works with each I Pads serial number, therefore wherever the devices are
used system will be effectively working.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT

The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services

implications in the class. Technology usage will be also checked in the walk thrus
and formal observations throughout the year
2. Do teachers have the classroom management strategies to work with the
amount of technology actually available in the classrooms?
Technology will also come with the challenges. In certain ways it will create
difficulties for the classroom management. Teachers will be trained intensely how
to run classes with I Pads without losing students while they move on as a whole
class. Teachers will be also trained about how the kids can use those devices
safely. The IT managers will also monitor the internet traffic with filtering
programs on the top of teacher monitoring in the classrooms.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment data and
the Curriculum Component of the plan.
1. What professional learning will be available so teachers and administrators
can make informed decisions using data to meet individual student academic
needs?

such as email, webpages, and voice mail?
School website is the general platform for all of the communications and it is updated
every day. There is also parent portal where parent and student can log in to check
students grades, messages, lunch balance etc. There is also activity calendar that was
shared to the parents and community in the school website. School also has a system
called School Reach which is a massive e mail, text, voice message in order to
communicate any information.
2. What technology access do parents have at home? What technologies do
parents prefer for home/school communication?
Kansas city school district has a high poverty rate for its parents. Only half of the
parents have internet/ computer at their homes. That being said, most of the parents have
smart phones and they use the smart phone app for the parent portal. Most of the parents
are not English speakers and that is why the school website and newsletter are being
translated to other languages.
Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and
telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical support, and
asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and administrators to support
the activities in the Curriculum and Professional Development components of the plan.
