Regulation Record of Survey replication for a 40-lot subdivision using Carlson Survey
Road design and site survey using Autodesk Civil 3D and Trimble GPS equipment
Senior project involving a corrective section subdivision survey for the BLM
A Civil 3D vs. Carlson Survey usability test, and a Geomatics recruitment grant
proposal for a Technical Communication class.
Employment
Tasks/Experience
Carried out various simple and complex surveys using a wide range of methods and
equipment.
Completed traverse surveys using Leica TCR 1103 and TS06 total stations and
Trimble TSC1, TSC2, and TSC3 data collectors, compass and tape, tripods, tribrachs,
prisms, and plumb bobs. Confirmed with closed loops and repeated GPS observations
Independently completed site surveys.
Worked with various GPS base stations and rovers including Trimble 4800, Trimble
5700, Trimble Zephyr Rover, Trimble R6 & R8 receivers.
Used analysis of record information to search for, locate, correct, re-establish, and
remonument H.E.S., M.S., and P.L.S.S. corners.
Ran boundary line with chainsaws, pole saws, brush axes, and axes.
Utilized all-terrain vehicles to access job sites.
Operated heavy 4x4 trucks to access jobsites and/or pull trailers.
Performed survey work in all kinds of environments and conditions.
Imported data from field surveys for analysis, computation, and drafting using
Trimble Geomatics Office, and Trimble Business Center
Utilized computer drafting programs such as AutoCAD and mapping programs such
as ArcGIS to draw survey plats, encroachment diagrams, and project maps.
