LCSS iPad Pride

Handbook
Liberty County Schools will continue
upon the Liberty Learning Experience
this school year. This will afford all
students the opportunity to participate in
a 1:1 learning environment. The iPad is a
great educational tool, that allows our
students to learn via the most
innovative methods currently available
in Liberty County.

Students will be charged for items that are

damaged/missing. (See image for pricing)

S ECTION 1

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
iPads must be kept in the school system issued
ClamCase at all times.
All 4-12 students must have and use the Liberty
County issued Apple id.
Carry iPad with the cover closed.
Place your iPad on a flat stable surface when in
use.
Notify your teachers or administrator
immediately if your iPad is missing or damaged.
(When an iPad is deemed missing or stolen, LCSS
will use mobile theft management to locate,
disable, and lock the iPad.) If the student does
not have insurance and the iPad is not recovered,
the student will be held responsible for the cost of
replacement ($349.00).
Accept accountability for negligent/intentional
damages.

*ClamCases and ClamCase cords are NOT covered under

insurance and students will be responsible for all damages or loss.

Ensure that your iPad is with you at all times and

refrain from leaving the device unattended at any
time.
Do not put weight on, stack items on top of, or
wedge iPads tightly into a backpack or case.

strictly prohibited.
Do not access or store inappropriate images/
videos on the iPad. (Inappropriate images/videos
include but are not limited to the presence of

from the teacher for instructional purposes.

Keep iPad away from water and/or wet surfaces.
Stay focused on the assigned application on the
iPad.
Keep personal information about yourselves
and others off the iPad. (This includes personal
Apple IDs.)

S ECTION 3

INDIVIDUAL READINESS
The iPad has limited storage and educational
use has top priority. If non-educational, personal
content is on the iPad and storage space is
needed, students must delete that
non-educational content to make room for
required content. Each school has a list of
recommended apps on their website as well as
the Liberty County School Systems website.
These apps will allow the students to extend their
learning beyond the school day.
Personalize learning by organizing and storing
documents, notes, and other files on iPad.
LCSS will push down all required schoolpurchased apps. Students will be responsible for
installing apps as directed by their teachers.
Students must bring iPads to school fully
charged each day.

S ECTION 4

DEMONSTRATED LEARNING
Use iPad appropriately for instructional
learning.
Be open to learning new things.
Commit to learning the correct and appropriate
use of applications.
Stay focused on the assigned application on the
iPad.

S ECTION 5

EFFECTIVE BEHAVIORS
Students are allowed to set up wireless networks
on their iPads in order to have wi-fi access outside of school. Schools will provide information
on wi-fi hot spots accessible within the community.

Accept all restrictions and boundaries in place

for iPad use.
Students should not bypass the filtering system,
as doing so will result in violation of the student
code of conduct. This includes any VPN apps or
websites that can be used in any way to bypass
the filter to unlock/unblock websites and apps.

All iPad apps added by the system must remain

on the iPad. Students must surrender iPad respectfully at LCSS staff members request to ensure students have not removed required apps or
added inappropriate content.
Students will turn in the iPad to their school at
the end of each school year. Students who graduate early, withdraw, are suspended or expelled,
and/or terminate enrollment for any other reason
must return the iPad on date of termination.
Students should resist peer pressure when working with iPads on/off campus.
