Local Schools Local Decisions: What actions do you need to take?

Staffing

The Local Schools, Local Decisions (LSLD) education reform agenda commenced in 2012 to give NSW
public schools more authority to make local decisions to best meet the needs of their students. The main
areas covered in LSLD is Staffing, Resources, Reducing Red Tape, Working Locally and Making Decisions.
These reforms will enable local decision making across a range of other key reforms currently underway.

Offer local incentives within their


budget to attract quality teachers
and leaders.

Every Aboriginal student within


your class is funded through the
school budget. As a teacher you
should be aware of how this
funding is utilised for your students.

Use knowledge of staff PDPs to


decide consultation strategies most
needed within the school context.

Manage annual maintenance to fit


educational needs.
Every school with Aboriginal
students will receive funding.
