Bullying Policy

Bullying, defined by our program is a pattern of

aggressive, intentionally hostile behaviors towards an
individual to affect them physically, emotionally, or mentally.
Bullying can include, but is not limited to, intimidation,
assault, oral or written/verbal threats, teasing, name-calling,
spreading rumors, and cyber-bullying. Some examples of
bullying may include a swimmer calling another swimmer fat
and repeatedly making fun of them for being heavier than
others either in person or online. If an incident of bullying is
reported, the swim coaches will take two steps in solving the
problem. The first step will be notifying the parents of how
their child is bullying another. In addition, the child will be
given a verbal warning explaining this behavior is
unacceptable, as well as the consequences if this behavior
continues. If this behavior continues, the second step will be
to suspend or expel the student from the program for the
rest of that semester. The student will be reevaluated and

must be in good standing to be able to reapply to the Maple

Dale Raptors the following year.
