The objective of this assignment is to see how the scientific method is utilized in
every day situations.

Assessment Plan
(What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?)

Students will review the information on the scientific method and write a response
the the question presented on the blog. The question will ask the student to give a
specific time when they used the scientific method to solve a problem.

Materials:

Computer
Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs:

Students with special needs will conduct the assignment in conjunction with their
IEP. The special needs student will be able to communicate with me directly
regarding their answer to the question.
Enrichment Techniques:

Students seeking further enrichment will give a presentation to the class on their
answer to the blog question.

Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students
have access to and are able to participate in the lesson):

All students will have access to the computer lab.

Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:

Students will be introduced to the blog question and be given an example of when I
used the scientific method in my experiences.

Detailed Teaching Sequence:

• Introduce the material via powerpoint presentation

• Give details on the expectation of the Blog assignment

o Students are to respond to a blog question to convey their experience
with the scientific method.

Students will be assessed based on their participation and ability to convey a clear
understanding of the scientific method.
