What would society as a whole look like without God in the picture? Could we even
function? Would society seize to exist, or would life as we know it stop? Some people say that
itd be utterly impossible to live without God being in society one way or another. Atheists,
mainly agree that the world would be a far better place without religion or God. John Lennon
wrote in a song that it would be a paradise. Well he got shot after he remarked that the Beatles
band is more famous than God, so his opinion is very invalid. However, that does not mean
that it was a religious person or a person who claimed to be a Christian. God made us, and made
the world we live in; so if God was not in society what does that truly mean? How are we alive?
William Lane Craig PhD. asked this question to Lee Strobel in the Case For Faith and
also answered it: if God does not exist, do objective moral values exist? The answer is no. A
philosopher Michael Ruse says that any deeper meaning of morality is illusionary (85). Mr.
Craig stated: if there is no God, then what is so special about humans? Just like what
mentioned earlier, what would we be if God isnt in the picture? Would being humane exist?
In an excerpt from the Case For Faith, Mr. Craig was recorded saying this statement: on
the atheistic view, some action like rape, may not be socially advantageous, and therefore it has
become taboo in the course of human development. But that doesnt prove that rape is really
wrong. In fact. Its conceivable that rape could have evolved into something thats advantageous
for the survival of the species. Thus, without God there is no absolute right and wrong which
imposes itself on our conscience (The Case For Faith pg. 85). Could we even function socially?
With no absolute truth as to what is really right or wrong, how fast would it take for
society to crumble or destroy itself? If there would be no since of what is actually wrong, or no
fundamental laws to follow then how many people would die, get raped or molested, or more?
How long would it take for a society without God to start riots, and wars? How much

chaos would take place before the whole race is destroyed or torn down into nothing? There
actually is a society that took God out of the equation. They didnt want nothing to do with
anyone named Jesus or anything to do with God. There was two cities in the Bible located in the
same area named Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 18:20 records: then the Lord said, the outcry
against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous. Both cities were full of sin
everywhere. One guy named Lot survived with a few family members because he was the only
one actually following God. It only took two angels to destroy the two NYC sized cities.
Im going to conclude with another excerpt from the book The Case For Faith. Mr. Craig
says however we all know that deep down, in fact objective moral values do exist. Lennon
wants all religions gone, but as I explained Christianity not being around would affect everyone
greatly. With all the chaos that would emerge I would say that any society would seize to
function. There would be no such paradise unless God would be there. There would be rape,
molesting, you name it and its happening. It would only get worse and worse and more people
would fight for control. It would be a living hell for anyone if it ever got to that point. As far as
the meaning and purpose goes that theyd try to find, there would either be no one else other then
God because theyd desperately want Him back, or idol worshiping may or may not start, or even
get worse. They would literally be begging for God to comeback because society has lost its
place so much, even in todays world and country. God we Trust is one of the nations many
mottos that we as Americans should be more than happy to live by, but in a society with no God
that happiness becomes echoed and people would be begging to have God back in our society
and Nation. There literally wouldnt be a law to function that society anymore, because every
law today in the courthouse can be traced back to the bible. Know Jesus know peace. Take away
the (ws &ks) - no Jesus no peace. Its your choice now; peace, or chaos?
