In my report I will be focusing on the benefit of healthier eating and avoiding fast food
that are expensive and does not have any nutritional benefits for college student. The effect on
both healthy and no healthy meals, nutritional facts on fast food restaurant and compare them
with non-fast food restaurant. I will explain how good habits can help make a great decision in
life. Just keeping habits such as eating healthy and exercising can give peace of mind to many
people and how it uses quantitative reasoning to support its understanding. And I will explain on
cost and calorie analysis of fast food for a college student.
There are many ways to avoid consuming fast food or eating out and also being healthy
can help in many ways to have a healthier and longer life. It all may seem difficult at first but just
keeping up with good habits such as regular exercising and watching on what we eat can
maintain a healthier life style. There are many good reasons on why eating healthy can benefit to
body and mind. I believe that many of us can benefit a lot by watching on what we consume
eating on daily basics and focusing on the nutrition facts of the meal.
Therere many ways to be healthy I like to share few that came to my interest like thinking
positive and focusing on yourself, eating foods that are high in nutrition, setting a five meal
ideal, exercising on daily basic and getting a good night sleep. Using food over supplements is
always a great chose, taking small breaks, keeping good company with others and making a list
to check often to remind you on how to stay positive. Being positive can support staying focus
and healthy in life.
As study shows that college students tend to eat out a lot for convenience. Research that
shows below is to assess money spent and calories consumed by college students from fast food

restaurant that are located around a southern college campus. But if becoming an educated
consumer and making wise meal choices when dining out can help with healthful diet and
enjoyable eating out occasionally.
T-Test is a term from statistics of two data populations and their means and a relationship
between two variables. A strong positive correlation was found between total monthly fast food
expense and total monthly fast food calories consumption (r (150) = 0.94, p< 0.05), indicating a
significant linear relationship be-tween the two variables. An independent-samples T-test
comparing the mean monthly fast food restaurant expense males to females found a significant
difference between the two groups (t (150) = 4.19,p< 0.05). The more money spent by college
students contributed to a higher amount of calories consumed from fast food in a typical
month.(Academia.edu)
Consuming more energy than is used, leads to weight gain and obesity. Over a 15 year
period, individuals that consumed fast food more than twice a week gained approximately 10
pounds and had twice the increase of insulin resistance (Academia.edu). An adult who eats fast
food also consumes higher amounts of fat and refined sugar compared to those who did not eat
fast food.
It is known that college student has a higher consumption of fast food. However there are
many other fast food restaurants now that offer some healthier options, which is low in sodium,
calories, and saturated fat and what is recommended for a 2000 calorie based diet.

I did my research at a fast food restaurant named Chick- fil-a, where I compared both the
healthier and not so healthier choice from the meal for lunch. With record of food and beverage
and its corresponding amounts of intake. Along with calories, prices and cost for a month long. I
also saw more increased in fiber and protein with the healthier meal choice.

After comparing two different meals from same menu as one being healthier choice and
other one not a healthier choice. I came to know that the non-healthier meal was little cheaper
than the healthier meal. But at the same time the nutritional facts changed dramatically for the
two meals. I believe it is easy to create healthier meal then non health meal, its a matter of being
open minded when it comes to making a healthier choice at a fast food restaurant for a college
student.
