naaapektuhan ng ganitong sitwasyon ang mga babaeng anak ng mga inang transnasyonal;
Filipino.
The participation of Filipino women in global migration continues to rise significantly.
While their departure from the homeland will boost the Philippine economy in general
and the living conditions of their respective families in particular, the impact of the
increasing number of absentee wives-mothers is alarming. Now referred to as transnational
wives-mothers, these women have opted to work abroad to meet the financial needs of the
family but have deprived themselves of physical bonding with their loved ones. The
writer has conducted a research on how daughters of transnational mothers cope with
such a situation, noting an emerging generational pattern of the feminization of the
Filipino diaspora.
