Spanish 2 Project

This project is a Scavenger Hunt to help acquaint you with the presence of the Hispanic
culture all around us. Enlist the help of your parents and friends to obtain these ten items.
Some items will be easy while others will necessitate a bit of hunting. Please ask me if
you get stumped.
Your items need to be assembled into a booklet or taped/glued into a small notebook or
folder to hand in. Each item should be numbered and in the order listed below and neatly
labeled in Spanish. Use your artistic talents or computer skills to design the cover and
enhance the pages. This project will count 100 points toward this 6 weeks grade: 8 points
per item + 20 points for neatness and creativity. Underlined items can be printed from the
internet.
1. a coin or bill from a Spanish speaking country(but not Puerto Rico)
2. a print out of a Spanish website(homepage), not a Spanish version of an English
website
3. a food label in Spanish
4. a cartoon with captions in Spanish and explanation in English
5. signature of a person outside of school who speaks Spanish as their first language
with an explanation of your relationship
6. menu in Spanish from a Cuban restaurant
7. an ad for a tourist destination in South America. Explain in English what you can
do there
8. a current news story about a Spanish speaking country, in English
9. instructions in Spanish
10. an advertisement in Spanish
