WHAT MAKES A GOOD SPEAKING CLASS?

Learners need to be tolerant of each other .

They sholudn’t demotivate the shy and easily embrassed students.
They sholdn’t laugh at each other.
They should make an effort to speak English.

Teacher should insist on learners speaking English.

He should give many opportunities to use the language.
He should accept answers tactfully
He should make learners feel accepted.

Atmosphere should be relaxing and comfortable.

It should encourage everyone to participate to speak.

Activities should have many pair and group works.

They should include interesting topics.
They should be varied.
There should be activities that prevent boredom.
Information gap activities are more useful than opinion gap actvities. (!)

Correction shouldn’t be made rudely.

It is not necessary to correct every single mistake.
Self-correction and pere-correction should be preferred.
