Binder System
Any person who is a consistent behavior problem (three or more yellow days in one
quarter (12 weeks) will be assigned to the binder system.

Level I Green binder Level I binder students will fill out a behavior log for
each class day and turn it in to Mrs. Apple at the end of class. Students will rate themselves
on how well they followed the rules and expectations. This form is between the student and
Mrs. Apple only. Student must earn THREE POINTS in order to earn their way off of the
binder system. 1 day without any incidents = 1 point. 3 days with no issues = no more
binder.
Level II Yellow binder Level II binder students will fill out a behavior log for
each class day and turn it in to Mrs. Apple at the end of class, this form will be given to the
classroom teacher for his or her records. Students will rate themselves on how well they
followed the rules and expectations. Must earn THREE POINTS in order to earn their way
off of this binder system. 1 day without any incidents = 1 point. 3 days with no issues = no
more binder. Earning your way off of Level II binder will get you back onto the Level I binder,
or I may decided to remove you from the binder system altogether, if you have earned it. If
the student refuses to fill out the forms in the binder, the teacher will fill them out for you, and
you will automatically be placed on Level III system for being uncooperative.

Level III Red binder Level III binder students will fill out (or teacher will fill
out) a behavior log for each class day. This form is shared with the classroom teacher and
sent home to get a signature from a parent or guardian THAT DAY. Must earn THREE
POINTS in order to earn their way off of the level III binder system. Once removed from
level III binder, will go back to Level I binder system. If negative behaviors remain consistent,
student will be referred to the office, and all forms will be shared with Administration.

Grading/Progress Reports
`
Each assignment/Art Project will be graded using a RUBRIC.

Students will review each rubric before projects begin, to see exactly
what is expected of them and all project requirements.
I will share progress reports with students prior to report cards being
issued, if there are concerns.
I look at two piece of data on each child to assign
grades
Your Participation/Artwork (rubric grade)
Your conduct/behavior (name card location)
My grading scale for report cards:
O Outstanding (typically in green or blue on chart)
S typically on green, may have had a few minor issues
NI Has had their card in YELLOW three or more times
(may be on a binder behavior plan)
U unsatisfactory Low quality work, makes consistent poor choices, has
been in red on the behavior chart one or more times.
