To be successful in business, a person should have a broad range of up-to-date skills and

should be able to research basic trends and current events to keep up with the constantly
changing business. In this unit you will use software that is commonly used in the business
setting.

You will be introduced to careers that are available in the Business Administrative Support
Pathway. Many of the skills gained in the Business Administrative Support Pathway vary
from entry level, to skills necessary to grow within a business career.
Standard 4: Students will explore skills, knowledge and concepts related to College and Career
Pathways in Business and Marketing.
Objective 3: Explore the relationship and impact of business and marketing information
technology within the Business Administrative Support Pathway.
Indicators:

Use word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and presentation software to perform basic tasks
independently and collaboratively in a business setting.
Understand how the Internet works and define Internet vocabulary including: URL, browser, search engine,
etc.
Understand proper etiquette and ethics when using the internet and social media/digital marketing online
applications.
