Employees Provident Fund Scheme, 1952
Provident Acts main object is that every employee will have some benefits after his
retirement.
Benefits:
a) Cash benefit
b) Pension benefit
c) Dependents benefit
d) Loan facilities like home, medical and marriage

EMPLOYEE PENSION SCHEME, 1995

Employee pension scheme, 1995:


Two types of employee pensions are there:
o Short service pension
o Superannuates pension

Short service pension:


If employee has completed 10<20 years of EPS service and retires on attaining the age of
58, he will be eligible for short service pension

Superannuates pension:
If employee has completed 20+ years of EPS service and retires on attaining the age of
58, he will be eligible for superannuates pension.
If employee expired before even after the retirement, then dependents will get the pension
and LIC insurance of minimum amount 60000/-.

Monthly pension Calculation:


= pensionable salary x pensionable service

Quantum of pension:
• When the employee retires from the service, he can get 33% pension of 100
months in advance. That amount of pension is called as quantum of pension.
• Then pensioner will get only 67% of pension for next 100 months.
• If the pensioner expires during this period of 100 months, the dependent will get
100% of pension.
 If the employee deceases, being in the employment then his dependents will get the
pension.
 If the employee wants to retire at the age of 50 then he will get only 67% of the
pension per month.
