Abstract Mobile applications are not just desktop applications reformatted for a small display.During application design,
user interface designer must accommodate the three measurable usability attributes defined by ISO are: Effectiveness, Efficiency,
and Satisfaction. The research aims to integrate usability engineering into Rapid Application Development (RAD) cycles.
Usability engineering lifecycles are (1) Know the User, (2) Usability Benchmarking, (3) Goal-Oriented Interaction Design, (4)
Iterative Design, (5) Summative Usability Evaluation, (6) Follow-up Studies. Usability engineering has corresponding activities
for most Rapid Application Development (RAD) activities. Not all lifecycles incorporate the same activities. Activity sequence
and frequency can vary. Some activities can be simultaneous. Each activity has goals, inputs, processes,and outputs. RAD
Lifecycles defined by Kendall, has three steps: (1) Requirement Planning, it focuses on user needs assessment. The usability
activities apply in this stage are: know the user, usability engineering and goal-oriented interaction design. (2) Design Workshop,
in this stage, application developer work with user to design system iteratively. The usability engineer applies a user-centered
design (UCD) process in which users comment on design concepts and perhaps generate their own sketches using use case
diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram and story board. (3) Implementation, application developer implement final design
(working prototypes/interactive drawing).

KESIMPULAN
Pengembangan kebergunaan (usability engineering UE) menitikberatkan pada kenyaman pengguna dalam
berinteraksi dengan aplikasi.UE dapat dilakukan secara
bersamaan dengan pengembangan perangkat lunak
menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development
(RAD). Integrasi siklus UE ke dalam RAD membuat
proses pengembangan aplikasi lebih cepat dan aplikasi
yang dihasilkan dapat memuaskan kebutuhan pengguna.
