If it is in free fall,
horizontal velocity
doesnt change
TOF= time of flight
X= cos
Y= sin
dx= Range
dx= Vix * t tof
T= 2h/g

FORCES

FG
FN
Ff
Fth or Fapp
Ft
Fsp

BOX AT REST
BOX IN MOTION
Friction- (air resistance=friction) R= Air resistence
The larger the surface= more resistence

SKYDIVER
Air resistance begins to
increase
(Due to the parachute)

FORCES=WEIGHT
weightmass
weight= (N)(Newtons) = mass*g value =
mass= lb/2.2= kilograms
example: 160/2.2= 72.2kg= 727.2 newtons= 160 lbs
EQUILIBRIUM

When a force is at rest the

forces equal each other in
order for the object to
remain still.
Balance= Equilibrium when
the net force is 0

Increeasing the velocity favors

To the right ------>
Fnet = 100 +(-20)
= +80 Newtons

Constant velocity
Going to remain equal

November

The rougher the surface the closer to one

Ice =0 -----------------------> concrete = 1

1st LAW
Law of inertia
Inertia--- resistence , to change motion
Change motion= force
=>stop/start
=>go faster (acceleration)
direction
2nd LAW
Law of acceleration
Fnet = Ma (acceleration)
Force (N)= Mass (kg)* Acceleration(m/s2)
1kg*1m/s2=1N
3rd LAW
Law of equal and opposite forces
Law of action- reaction
Teacher pushes on board --- action
Board pushes on teacher --- reaction

=>change

NEWTONS UNIVERSAL LAW OF GRAVITATION

Equation:

Example:
G= 6.67* 10-11
M1= 72 kg
M2= 45 kg
D= 2m
Fg= 6.67*10-11*72*45/4m
November

EXAMPLES
Fg= GM1M2/D2

Fgold= GM1M2/d2

Fgold= GM1M2/D2

G= 6.67 * 10-11
M1--- Tripled
M1= 120.5 kg
M2--- Doubled
Increased by 2
M2=23.2kg
D----- Reduced by
1/8

M1--- Quadruple
M2---

D= 52.7m
Fgnew=G(3m1)(2m2)/ D2
(2.5M2)/(1/8 D2)
Fg=6.6908*10-10n Fgnew = 24fgold
(1/64)D2
Fnew/Fold= 24/1

Fgnew= G(4M1)

D----- Reduced by

Fgnew= 10 GM1M2/
Fgnew/Fgold=640/1

WORK

Work=
Applied Force

Movement

Work = (Force) Fapp * (Displacement/ Distance) D

Newtons (NM) = Joules (J)
Power

Power= (W) Work/ (T) Time

(P) IN POWER IS WATTS !!!! = fd/t- to explain in in another way

ENERGY

In potential energy the higher the object is from the ground the
more energy it contains but if it remains on the ground then it has
0 energy.

COMPARING WORK

STUDENT A
W=450 NM= 450 J
P= 450/12= 37.5 W

STUDENT B
Cos= horizontal = x
sin= vertical = y
X= 90cos(40)= 68.9 = 69 N
Y= 90 sin(40)= 57.9 = 58 N
W= 69N * 5M
=345NM
=345 J
P= 345/8
= 43.125 W
