to this article?
I can not believe this tragedy. I'm still in shock. My concern is about Shasta now. I
hope this little girl continues to recall what she needs to get this man his just due.
Then I hope, by the grace and mercy of God, that these memories are erased from her
mind, never again to return. God can heal, but I think it will take the erasure of these
memories.

How do you think this event will affect Shastas development

(psychologically, socially, and biologically)?


Psychologically affect: I think she will have stress and depression, which will effect
on her daily and mental activities.
Socially affect: in my opinion, she will not After this have trust to men, and Her
communication will be limited. Her constant fear of this event will cause that she will
not have trust to many people.
Biologically affect: I think the event will make Pregnancy Problems or sexually
transmitted infections or diseases; also she will be prone to diabetes.

Shasta and her family experienced?
According to the textbook, I think they experienced 2 types of abuse:
1- Physical abuse: assault leading to physical injuries (p. 250).
2- Sexual abuse: fondling, intercourse, or other sexual behaviors (p. 250)
3- Neglect (During the captivity): inadequate food, clothing, or medical cares (p.
250),
4- Psychological abuse (humiliate the children in the capacity): ridicule, rejection,
or humiliation (p. 250)
b. What are the other types of abuse or maltreatment described in your
textbook?
1- Financial

2- Abandonment
3- Self-neglect

c. What is the most common form of abuse?


Neglect- 80%

d. List five factors that could protect a child from abuse?

Protective factors

Ego resilience: ability to respond adaptively and resourcefully to new


situations

Buffers against abuses effects

Children having positive representations of their mothers (e.g., kind,


loving)

Buffers against neglects but not abuses effects


Also, child protective factors are include: history of good health, history of

adequate development, above-average intelligence, hobbies and interests, positive


self-esteem and Good social skills
