GLOSSARY
sidewalks- a hard surface or path at the side of a street for people to walk on.
pedestrian- someone who is walking, especially along a street or other place used by
cars.
inattentive- not giving enough attention to someone or something
footpaths (British English)- a narrow path for people to walk along, especially in the
country
handrails-a long bar that is fixed to the side of a set of stairs for people to hold while
they walk up or down.
alighting- to dismount from a horse, descend from a vehicle, etc.
stationary- standing still instead of moving
