Grading Policy
1) Stay on top of your grade in Power Schools!
2) Daily Participation Points are 20% of your grade.
Points are given daily for being present, on time, prepared, and for good
participation and behavior.
You must be here to receive instruction and information. Missed work,
practice, and information is the students responsibility.
3) In Class Assignments and Tests are 20% of your grade.
Students are responsible any missed work. Class information and Special
Event information will be in the monthly newsletter, on the website,
announced in class, and/or written on one of the two information boards.
Written quizzes and tests- Will be based on class lectures and practice. If you
are absent, you are responsible for getting this information from another
student, or on your own time. We will not stop class to reteach material that
you missed during an absence.
Performance Testing- Students will be given an individual or group goal for
singing or playing tests. When testing, students are responsible for performing
their part musically; including pitch accuracy, tone, rhythm, tempo, dynamics
and all other basic fundamentals of music. Practice time is given in class, so it
is important that you are there. In addition your success will be related to your
practice both individually and with others both in and outside of class.
Need extra practice? Students are welcome to come to the classroom to
practice during lunch, and before and after school most days.
The Grading Rubric for performance tests is shown below. Remember to
always try your best. Only 1 points is given for not trying, and your make-up
will be considered late.

Be careful not to miss your performances- Talk to your parents about your

Every Performance is worth 300-500 points. This is a Performing Arts Class,
