Did high school prepare you for college?
More than 60% of students who enroll in college after high school end up taking one
remedial course. This is due to the curriculum and structure of high schools. The high school I
attended, did not prepare me for high school in my opinion. The difficulty of assignments
differed depending on the course, youre constantly reminded of the due dates of assignments
and the dates of test and quizzes, the teachers were lenient, and etc. My senior year I was given
the chance to take college-level courses, but out of all four classes only two prepared me for
college. These two classes, allowed me to gain a strong work ethic and the importance of
studying. Studying is an area I wish I was better prepared for. Studying is a major component of
being a successful college student, Sadly, I dread the thought of studying. I plan to enhance my
studying skills this semester.
