Day 2: (18/08/15): Grammar (Present tense of ar, er & ir verbs) & possessive adjectives (p. 169)
Goal: Use present tense verbs to say what people do. (1.2a, 1.2c, 2.2a)
Learn different ar, er and ir verbs (words of classroom activities) and form the
present tense of changing the ending of the verb.
Los adjetivos posesivos: mi, tu, su, nuestro, vuestro,
it with me.
Tarea #1: Make a table with all the verbs you have learned so far and share
Day 3: (20/08/15): Reflexive verbs and daily routines (1.1b, 1.1d, 4.1b, 4.2c)
Goal: To learn the rule of using reflexive verbs.
Learn about the reflexive pronouns: -self, -selves.
Use of definite article instead of possessive adjectives in reflexive verbs
Music and Culture from the Spanish-speaking countries (Pages C1-C25 of your
textbook)
Day 4: (24/08/15) Practising free speech and writing in Spanish (2.2a, 3.1b. 5.1.a)
Goal: To read, listen and discuss: what are some typical icons of Spain and other
Spanish-speaking countries.
Each student brings a laptop and do individual research based on a worksheet that will
be given in class
Writing in class: student chooses a topic and practices free writing in Spanish. A
Tarea #2: Complete your writing activity at home (Min. 200 words in
Spanish-NO GOOGLE TRANSLATE OR ANY OTHER HELP, PLEASE. I WANT TO SEE YOUR
MISTAKES!!!)
Day 5: (25/08/15) Reflexive verbs and daily routines (2.1a, 2.1b, 2.2b)
Goal: Indirect Object Pronouns. (pp. 46-47)
Complete exercises pag. 48 textbook
At the travel agency (Listening and talk: p.50)
Day 6: (27/08/15) Vamos de viaje! (3.2a, 4.1a, 4.1b)
Goal: To be able to use travel related vocabulary to discuss travel preparations.
Talk about things you do at an airport. (Ej. Voy al mostrador, enseno mi pasaporte,
facturo mis maletas)

Goal: To be able to tell your vacation that you went using preterite tenses.
Describe your favorite trip you took with your family, friends, or any other organized
group using preterite tenses.
Write your experience in a short paragraph in Spanish.
Day 16: (21/09/15) Culture day (2.2a, 2.2b, 3.1c)
Goal: Read about Costa Rica and its culture in order to explore different places to go in the country.
Goal: Explore different brochures from Costa Rica and get an idea for the following project.
Read about brief information about Costa Rica.

TAREA: this year we are going to deposit your tarea in a designated basket during the last 5min. of
class. TAREA is due the day after EXCLUSIVELY!!! (No exceptions, please)

During this year, I am going to be calling everyone to have a chat where we can share things.
Basically to offer you my support on how you can improve your Spanish.
BATHROOM:
When can you use the bathroom? At the beginning and end of each period in between classes.
When can you not use the bathroom? When the class starts, when the teacher is explaining the
lesson, when you are working in groups.
Other than that, only 2 people can use the bathroom in each lesson, and it will be exclusively when
we are working in groups.
Procedure: 1) Stand up 2) go to the front and grab the hall pass 3) leave the class in silence, open
and close the door quietly
4) do your business and come back quickly
5) quietly return to your
seat.
DELEGATE: Every term, some individuals will volunteer to be selected DELEGAD@. This person will
be working with me to support me with small tasks such as: keep track of people going to bathroom,
collect info/ideas when necessary, explaining rules to students, discuss possible issues, help organize
cultural events, and so on. Basically, you will be the link between students and teacher. What you get
from this experience is to learn to be organized, mature and responsible. It will be also part of your
presentation letter when you apply to university. I will be supporting you in everything. No worries!
