In order to graduate from Evergreen, you will need to successfully complete a passage portfolio and
presentation that covers who you are as a student, how you have grown in your career at the school,
and who you hope to be in your life beyond Evergreen. This process looks different this year in order
to increase student choice in this process and to allow for more flexibility in the parts of your
Evergreen experience you bring to the product. You will need to complete two major parts for this
product: a passage portfolio and a presentation in front of a panel of judges from the community.
You will be assigned a mentor for this process. The mentor will perform regular check-ins with you to
give you advice. This person will also be assessing your portfolio. You will not be allowed to present to
judges if you have not passed your portfolio.
For the presentation part, you will be creating a PowerPoint and outline that will be assessed.
The portfolio has four required sections. You will need to complete each of the sections fully. The
requirements for each section are listed on pages 3 and 4 of this document. Each section needs a
divider with some sort of decorative cover. Everything in bold is required for that section as well. The
other bullet points in each section are recommendations of other types of evidence to include in the
section. If you have other ideas that are not in a list, you can check in with your mentor to get these
approved.

You will need to include

significant and multiple
pieces of evidence for each section, and they need to
be quality work. This could include a piece of school work and any reflections you completed, the
processes and drafts for an assignment, multiple assignments or pieces of work being compared for
growth, photos of you representing one of the possible bullet points, artwork, service logs, awards,
certificates, test scores, documentation of personal/academic goals, grades, collages or art pieces
representing part of a section, and reflections. These need to be quality pieces that strongly
demonstrate some aspect of the section for which you chose them.
Lastly, you will need to write a cover letter to the judges who will ultimately be reading your portfolio
and judging your presentation. You will receive a more detailed description of this assignment soon,
but ultimately the letter is an introduction of yourself and of the evidence you have chosen to place in
the portfolio.
You will also need to address the Expeditionary Learning design principles in at least two of the four
sections.
Ultimately, use this opportunity to be creative and reflective in how you represent your journey at
Evergreen. Who are you as a writer? Reader? Historian? Mathematician? Scientist? Researcher?
Artist? Athlete?
To recap, here is what is required:
1. Passage Portfolio with the following elements:
a. Cover on the binder
b. Divider for each of the four sections complete with art
c. Significant, multiple pieces of evidence for each of the four sections. Bold parts are
required, but you need evidence beyond this as well.
d. Cover letter for the presentation judges
2. Presentation to a panel of judges
a. Outline and reflection
b. PowerPoint
