At this point you are free for the rest of the evening, but we advise everyone to rest well in preparation for Saturday. Saturday, May 31 Timing Activity By 7:45am\ Check out of the Holiday Inn 7:45am-8:30am_ Travel to Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School By 8:30am ‘Arrive at Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School 8:30am - 9:00am, Settling in for interview day; welcome and Instructions. Donuts and coffee will be available. 9:00am ~ 3:00pm Interviews with schools Each of you will receive a personalized interview schedule on Friday night or Saturday morning. We will be providing lunch for you. You will have down time between interviews, 50 you may want to bring work or reading material for use during this time. You will be free to depart after your last interview. 3:00pm Final interviews wrap up. Leave for Airport, Bus/Train Station, etc. On occasion, certain schools may run late with their interviews. If this happens, we may ask those of you with more flexible travel schedules to stay past 3pm in order to accommodate these schools’ schedules. Hotel Information Holiday Inn Express 100 N. Simply provide the front desk with your name and inform them that you are with Teach For America. We have made reservations for all corps members who requested hotel accommodations. Check-in time is anytime after 4:00pm. If you arrive before &<00pm you can leave your luggage with the front desk * Please visit the front desk to checkout. Checkout time is 12:00pm. Because Saturday interviews begin early in the morning, please check out in the morning before departing for Mariana Bracetti ‘Academy Charter School. You will be able to store your luggage at the school. Public Transportation (requires a 10-minute walk at the end): SEPTA Regional Rail Airport Line can be caught at any of the following Airport Terminals A- East, 8.C,D and E SEPTA Charge (one wayl: $7 in cash. When the train comes simply take a seat and the conductor will come to you to collect your payment. Depart the train at the Gallery/ Market East Station. When you arrive, look for the signs directing you totake the Market-Frankford Line (Blue Line] Subway Train Eastbound. Fare is $2.25 for buses, subways, and trolleys. Take the Market-Frankford Line eastbound to 2nd street. Exit onto Market Street. At 2nd street, Market Street will appear to fork. Take the left fork onto a ramp, following the big sign for “Penn's Landing”. This ramp will put you onto a pedestrian-accessible bridge that crosses over several lanes of highway, On the far side of the bridge, continue walking straight as far as you can until you reach the wall overlooking the Delaware River. To your left, “in the corner” there will bea staircase heading down. Take this staircase down At the bottom of the staircase, cross Christopher Columbus Boulevard, the major street running parallel to the river. Make a right onto that street, Walk about two blocks north on Columbus Boulevard to the Holiday Inn Express (i.e. with the city to your left and the river to the right]. The Holiday Inn Express will be on your left. From Amtrak 30" Street Train Station (includes Megabus and Bolt Bus Drop Offs): Taxi: * $2.70 + $2.30 per mile or portion thereof. Expect about $10-15 fare total. * Taxis can be hailed outside the station. Cross Frankford Avenue (major street] and continue walking straight until you reach Tulip Street. Make a left onto Tulip and then make a right on Eyre Street. The TFA entrance is on Eyre Street. Total time: 15 minutes for the train ride, plus a 5-7 minute walk From Greyhound/Other Bus Drop Off Points Public Transportation: The Greyhound Bus Station is located at 1001 Filbert Street Philadelphia, PA 19107. There are several neighboring bus stations in this area [Chinatown]. They are about 2 miles from our office. From the Greyhound bus station, you will exit onto Filbert Street. Walk west on Filbert Street towards 11 Street. Turn left on 11! Street. At the corner of 11% and Market Streets you will find a blue subway entrance. Walk down those stairs and take the Blue Market - Frankford Line Train Eastbound. Depart the train at Berks Street. Take the stairs down and make a left onto Front Street at the bottom. Watk until you reach Palmer Street and then make a left. Cross Frankford Avenue (major street] and continue walking straight until you reach Tulip Street. Make a left onto Tulip and then make a right on Eyre Street. The TFA entrance is on Eyre Street. It’s the 2x4 glass door. Driving Directions and Parking at the Greater Philadelphia Office Teach For America’s offices are located at 1714 Memphis Street in Philadelphia. Driving directions to our office can be found in Google Maps or other online sites. Street parking is readily available in the vicinity of the Teach For America office. Although we are part of the larger Memphis Flats building, please do not use the Memphis Flats parking lot Please note the entrance to the Teach For America office is located on the Eyre Street side of the Memphis Flat building. You will not be able to access our office via the main entrance. Directions to Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School 1840 Torresdale Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19124 From Holiday Inn Express Taxi ‘* $2.70 + $2.0 per mile or portion thereof. The school is about 7 miles from the Holiday Inn Express, a 15 minute taxi ride. ‘+ The front desk of the hotel will call a taxi for you upon request. Public Transportation: * Exit out of the Holiday Inn Express onto Christopher Columbus Boulevard. Walk south (i.e. with the river on your left and the city on your right] about two blocks. At the first traffic light, right in front an overpass, cross over to the far side of Columbus Boulevard. Take the staircase on that side of the street up onto the overpass/pedestrian walkway. Cross back over Columbus Boulevard on the overpass. Continue walking straight, passing over several lanes of highway. The bridge will end at 24 and Market Street. Enter the subway station on the South side of Market Street, Take the Market-Frankford Line (Blue Line] Subway Train Eastbound. Fair is $2.25. Depart at the Erie/Torresdale Station and head east on Torresdale Avenue for half of a block and MBA Charter School will on the right side of Torresdale Avenue. If you would like something more substantial, the Holiday Inn Express provides a complimentary breakfast between 6:30am and 9:30am, Lunch ‘* Lunch will be provided for you between your interviews. 10 Expenses Expenses to Expect ‘As mentioned previously, lunch and dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday are complimentary. You will be responsible for lunch on Friday and Saturday. The only other expenses you should plan to allocate funds for are your transportation costs to and from the hotel, office, and airport/train and bus stations. Refer to the transportation section for specifics on travel costs. Reimbursement If you were approved to receive financial assistance to help you cover your travel costs, please remember that reimbursement requests will be due to the Greater Philadelphia office by no later than June 16%. You may either submit these documents in person or mail them to: Teach For America c/o Becca Rossi 1714 Memphis Street, Suite C-1 Philadelphia, PA 19125 All reimbursement requests must include receipts, a completed W-9, a completed reimbursement form, any applicable boarding passes or train or bus tickets, and a mileage reimbursement form [if applicable). These forms would have been attached to the e-mail indicating that your financial assistance was approved. You will also have the opportunity to pick up copies of these forms while you are in Philadelphia for the hiring fair. Dress Requirements The attire for visiting schools on Friday and the hiring fair prep session Friday night is business casual. Suits are not necessary for Friday's activities, but jeans are not acceptable. On Saturday, professional dress is required for your interviews with schools. "
