- Will understand how to conjugate gustar with plural and singular subjects, and will begin to understand how to use indirect
object pronouns with the verb gustar.
- Will confidently be able to conjugate gustar with singular and plural subjects using the me indirect object pronoun.
Most:
- Will be able to conjugate gustar with singular and plural subjects using the te le nos os and les indirect object
pronouns, with the help of a table.

Teacher instructions
- Explain traffic light system (again)
- Explain how the verb works ie: Me gustan las manzanas. Apples are pleasing to me.
Other examples:
English: I like the room.
Spanish: The room is pleasing to me.
English: I like the books.
Spanish: The books are pleasing to me.
- Using SpanishDict, ask students to look up I like icecream and I like icecreams.
- Using the iPad app, ask a student to highlight the difference in the verb gustar.
- Use this opportunity to explain that when subject is plural we use gustan and when
the subject is singular we use gusta.
- On the overhead, show pictures of funny pictures and individually point out students
using iPad app to match up using their with gusta or gustan.
- Towards the end of the slides, show pictures of verbs for example correr comer
hablar explain that we use gusta when the infinitive verb is our subject.
- Provide students with access codes to Zondle.
- Ask students to download Zondle.
- Students login to Zondle and complete the first game.
- Teacher looks at monitor screen to check for students current level of understanding.
- On the overhead, use cartoons to explain when we would use le and les gusta(n).
- Supported by the overhead, ask students to use their white board to indicate if they
would use le or les, and gusta or gustan.
- Supported by pictures on overhead, explain that we simply use no at the start of the
sentence if we dont like something.
- Class group activity: Teacher says me gusta(n) or no me gusta(n) to the subject on
the overhead, teacher then asks another student if they like the second object on the
overhead by saying **insert student name** te gusta(n) **insert subject**,
specific student then says me gusta(n) or no me gusta(n) **insert subject**, and
asks another student if they like the third subject on the board and the game

continues.
EXTENSION: Students pair themselves with the person or people next to them.
Supported by the overhead, explain os and nos; students then do the activity by
saying no nos gusta(n) **insert the subject** and then ask another group if they
like the second image on the board by saying Melanie y Shane os gusta(n) ** insert
the subject** and the game continues.
Teacher instructions
- Write the scripts on the board to help support students.
