English Pronunciation
I think it is difficult to pronounce English words. For one thing,
vowels have many different pronunciations. For example, the letter (a) in
the two simple words Bar and Bad, both words have the similar
spelling but their pronunciation is different. Therefore, the pronunciation
of the words is different from their spelling in many words. For another
thing, because my native language does not have the sounds of English,
so its hard to discover how to make them. For example, the letters (Th)
in the word Thank, in pronunciation of the letters (Th), tongue must be
in between the upper and lower teeth. As a Persian, I find it really
difficult to do, because how we pronounce words and letters is different
from English. Even I have tried so hard, it still sounds awkward. English
people voice sounds are more frontal and a bit nasally when they speak, I
think sometimes in English words. For another thing, pronunciation of
some of the words is similar but they have different spellings and
meanings. For example, in two words Lite and Light, the letters (e) at
the first word and the (gh) at the second word dont reads. Finally, I think
the English pronunciation is difficult but by ear training and having
English-speaking friends, we can resolve the problems.
