Modeling and Evaluation of a Brewery


Process
The brewery example simulates the operation of an industrial beer production and packaging
facility. Barley malt (12,000 kg/batch) and corn grits (6,000 kg/batch) are converted to beer
through the fermentation of starch-derived sugars by brewers yeast (Sachcaromycaes
cerevisiae). The plant production scale is 126,000 L of beer per batch (5.0% alcohol by volume).
