The answer is required to cover a brief description of CPFR, and the
process followed by the company to implement the CPFR, and a detailed
discussion on why the company was not able to widen the supplier base
willing to implement CPFR.
The answer has added fresh information in order to discuss the issues
arising out of implementation of CPFR. But the discussion is not conclusive
and leaves many questions unanswered.
The answer could have described the CPFR process, its nine steps, such
as developing front-end agreement, creating joint business plan, creating
sales forecast, identifying sales forecast exceptions, collaborating on
exception items, creating order forecast, identifying order forecast
exceptions, collaborating on exception items, and generating orders. The
answer should briefly discuss the positive and negative aspects of CPFR,
and how the negative aspects could be mitigated.
10. Case: Fords E-Business Strategy
Question (a)
The answer is required to cover a brief introduction of Ford, a brief
discussion on Fords e-business strategy and its components that sought
to transform the company and help it gain competitive advantages, and
an evaluation of Fords e-business strategy and a comment on the gaps if
any.
The answer has described the impact of e-business strategy on Ford and
there is a comparison with Dells business model.
However, the gaps in the strategy have not been covered adequately. The
line of thought the Ford, a traditional company trying its hand at a stateof-the-art technology should have been extended to make the answer
conclusive.
