Electrical Stimulation Device for Muscle Actuation


Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Hackathon Project
Designed an electrode-embedded sleeve to improve upon existing electrical stimulation products used
for rehabilitation in stroke and spinal cord injury patients
Won 1st place at the hackathon and will be presenting to the national AAPM&R conference in Boston
Automatic Analysis of Red Blood Cell Quality
Senior Design Project
Designed and fabricated a novel medical device for automated analysis of erythrocyte quality upon
donation in collaboration with a team
Tested methods of enzyme immobilization to create disposable test cuvette
Low-Cost HIV Viral Load Test
UC San Diego Chapter of Engineering World Health
Built and tested a thermocycler device for use as part of an extremely affordable HIV viral load test for
use in our partnering hospital in Mozambique
Collaboration within an interdisciplinary student team
Wrote and presented complex technical information to funding sources

Investigated the efficacy of a Chinese herbal medicine on depression using a mouse model to

interdisciplinary hackathon to give students practical experience in engineering

Attracted 150 students from all different departments and elicited 20 project proposals
