Intro: Hi everyone! Do you know the meaning of cognitive theory?

Well the
cognitive theory is an approach to psychology that attempts to explain
human behavior by understanding the thought processes.
Did you know that the cognitive theory is used by teachers in different
classroom settings?

1. Board games
In this class, the teacher used board games as a tool for motivation and to
improve the cognitive ability of a child. It develops the childs creativity,
imagination, dexterity, physical, emotional, and cognitive strength.
2. Vygotsky(Word def)
In this scene, the teacher asked the meaning of the word and gives
additional information regarding the use of the word. It emphasized the role
of social interaction to improve cognitive development. It shows that when a
child (or a novice) learns with an adult or a more capable peer, the learning
occurs within the child's zone of proximal development (ZPD). Enabling the
learner to bridge this gap between the actual and the potential depends on
the resources or the kind of support that is provided.
3. Modelling Bandura (Reading)
As you can see here the teacher reads a word and the students repeats
them. The teacher models the correct way of saying the word so that the
students could observe and encode the behavior. This is Banduras
Observational Learning Theory.
4. Decision making choosing the conflict
Decision making is the thought process of selecting a logical choice from the
available options given. It is what we see in this situation. The teacher lets
the students select the right conflict for the text. This activates their
cognitive ability to make their decision on the right conflict of the text.
5. Attributive wainer (water)
The last scene shows the teacher holding a bottle of water. She asked the
students what are the uses of water. The students raised their different
answers according to their prior knowledge about what does water signifies
or in which way can they use it. This activates their cognitive ability to use
their background information regarding the subject.
